“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” - James 1:6-8 NKJV
Have you ever told people you trust God, but deep down still wonder if He will actually come through for you? James calls that being double-minded or having ‘two minds’. it is when we have two competing thoughts on something that we become unstable, but James says we are unstable in all our ways. That’s because when our certainty isn’t in God it is in something else. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” The ‘word’ trust in this verse speaks of ‘being confident in and being sure of’ and the word ‘hope’ literally means ‘refuge or security’. But get this, the word ‘hope’ actually comes from the same root word as the word ‘trust’, so we could read it like this: “Blessed is the man whose confidence, boldness and security doesn’t just come from thinking God is His source, it comes from being secure in the fact that He is absolutely His source.” If you have a need in your life, then find verses that state God’s promise to you and then declare them as statements of faith; meditate on those promises and continue to declare them knowing that God is your source. Then you will become more stable for you will be convinced of the truth that you are very, very blessed. Declaration Starter: “I declare that I am extremely blessed because I have confidence that my Father is my provider. I live with expectancy that His is my source and today, I choose to I trust in Him…”

"Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord. How much more does He know the human heart!" - Proverbs 15:11 NLT
How amazing is it that God knows everything? He knows every thought you have, every secret you have, and every struggle you have, no matter what it is, no matter how insignificant or substantial, no matter who it’s about and no matter how happy or painful it may be to you. There is no secret you have that He doesn’t know about. You may wonder why that is so amazing but the truth is, that it means that you can never bring anything before Father that will surprise Him. There is nothing you can say that will cause Him to fall off His throne in shock. Not only that, He can sympathise with our weaknesses because He was tempted in all areas like we are. (Hebrews 4:15). He knows you intimately, and He still loves you unconditionally. That is so freeing, because it means that no matter what secrets we have, we can share them with Him, knowing that He isn’t shocked, surprised, or even disappointed. He wants to us to share everything with Him. Go to Him in faith. The very think you don’t know how to put in words, He already knows. Just go before Him and be open and honest and let Him lead you. You’ll be glad you did. Declaration Starter: “I declare that there is nothing that God doesn’t know. Even death and destruction hold no secrets from Him. He even knows the secrets of my heart and I know can trust Him with them all…” “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” - Matthew 6:34 NKJV
What will your day look like today? Some people are so filled with worry and anxiety that they have preplanned what will happen when it comes to certain events and people they will encounter during their day. Their thoughts tick over and over… “He’s going to do…” or “She is going to say…” Well, what if you are wrong? Too often we plan the whole event out in our mind before it happens, and if we were asked how often our forecast is right, we would probably say, “Rarely”. So let’s begin to think differently and think the way Father tells us to. Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report. It also says, “If there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Allow your thinking to be faith filled instead of being filled with things like worry and fear. We have control over our thoughts, so today choose to think differently. Ask Father to lead you, even in the way you think. He knows what our day will look like and He wants us to let Him be in control instead of us. Ask Him to help you see things coming up the way He wants you to see them. Then speak words of faith and life over them, and see how Father will turn things around for you in a very different way. Declaration Starter: “I declare that anxiety and worry will not be a part of my day! As a child of God, I choose take control of my thoughts and I choose to focus on things that will stir life and hope…” "Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord." - Psalms 105:2-3 NLT
As we read through the Gospels, we see that Jesus performed an incredible number of miracles whilst He was on the earth. Most people today get excited if they pray for someone with a cold and they are healed, but Jesus performed miracle after miracle. If they were all recorded, the Apostle John says, “I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” That’s an abundance of miracles, but the exciting thing for us is that Father hasn’t stopped doing the miraculous. You and I are empowered with the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. Mark 16:15-18 specifies a number of things that will follow those who believe, and one of them is that “they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” If we look around us today, we still see evidence of Father’s work as believers are laying hands on people and praying for the miraculous. Marriages are being restored; the sick are being healed; addictions are being broken and lives are being changed. Let’s keep believing for the miraculous and continue telling of the mighty works of our God. As we do so, we will stir faith in others to believe for the miraculous and in addition, we will be exalting His mighty name. We can rejoice in Him and celebrate His faithfulness, for He is indeed worthy of all of our praise. Declaration Starter: “I declare that God has done many, many wonderful and amazing things. I will worship Him and tell of his wondrous works! I give glory to His holy name…” |
