“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” - Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV When I read this verse in Zephaniah 3:17, the picture I see is one of our loving Father doting over us like a father would over his new-born baby in a cradle. Picture that father trying to put his child to sleep. The baby is screaming, and yet he speaks in a calm, deep, soothing voice, and then as he then begins singing. As I think on that, I see that baby calming right down, and before long, the baby is asleep. God isn’t always and strong aggressive Father to us. The verse above says, “He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” When things are stressful, and seemingly out of control, our Father can bring peace to you like you have never imagined possible. Some people make their relationship with God really complex, but it doesn’t need to be. Jesus died on the cross in my place, He conquered sin and death, and He provided me with a way to come into relationship with Him. Once I accept Him as my Lord and Saviour, I can rest in the fact that I no longer need to go at it alone, because I know that He will never leaves me or forsake me. (Heb 13:5) He is indeed a very loving Father to me. Declaration Starter: “I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. I am His child and He is my God. Today, in everything I face, I will walk knowing that God is with me every step of the way..."

“I declare that sleep will be an active, an intentional and a regular part of my life each and every day. God created me as a human being - not a machine. I don’t run the world, He does, and He can do without my help for a few hours each day. Rest is His creation and strategy and it is His fuel to help me be effective. It is not good for me to rise up early, or to sit up late, or to worry or be sorrowful. He not only intends, but promises to give me, sleep so I will rest well, knowing that I am honouring Him as I rest.” (Psalms 127:2)
