I have chosen to seek Him… "With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!" - Psalms 119:10 NKJV Have you ever considered what it means to seek God with your whole heart? ‘Whole’ means everything. Not some; not half; not even 99% - it means everything with nothing left over; it means full pursuit; it means your complete desire is for that which you are pursuing, or in this case, Who you are pursuing. It’s not uncommon to hear people say how busy they are, and because of that, it’s easy to let some things slide when it comes to our walk with God. We may not pray every day because we are tired. We may not read our Bible every day because something came up and we didn’t get to finish it. We might say, “I can’t go to church because I’ve been invited to spend time with a friend whom I don’t get to see very often. God seems to get our leftovers sometimes rather than our best. Some may say, “I live under grace, not law” or “God sees my heart…” Luke 6:44 tells us that a tree is known by its fruit, however the word known literally means ‘found out’. God does see our heart because our lives give evidence of that. Let me challenge you from today to begin asking this question: “How important is this to God”. Seeking Him with your whole heart is a lifelong pursuit, but know this, God is pursuing you with His whole heart also, so you can’t lose. Declaration Starter: “I declare that I am committed to a wholehearted pursuit of God. I will live to please Him in all I do. He has pursued me with his whole heart, so I will honour Him with no less…”

"Even Death and Destruction hold no secrets from the Lord. How much more does He know the human heart!" - Proverbs 15:11 NLT How amazing is it that God knows everything? He knows every thought you have, every secret you have, and every struggle you have, no matter what it is, no matter how insignificant or substantial, no matter who it’s about and no matter how happy or painful it may be to you. There is no secret you have that He doesn’t know about. You may wonder why that is so amazing but the truth is, that it means that you can never bring anything before Father that will surprise Him. There is nothing you can say that will cause Him to fall off His throne in shock. Not only that, He can sympathise with our weaknesses because He was tempted in all areas like we are. (Hebrews 4:15). He knows you intimately, and He still loves you unconditionally. That is so freeing, because it means that no matter what secrets we have, we can share them with Him, knowing that He isn’t shocked, surprised, or even disappointed. He wants to us to share everything with Him. Go to Him in faith. The very think you don’t know how to put in words, He already knows. Just go before Him and be open and honest and let Him lead you. You’ll be glad you did. Declaration Starter: “I declare that there is nothing that God doesn’t know. Even death and destruction hold no secrets from Him. He even knows the secrets of my heart and I know can trust Him with them all…”  “I declare that I am free because I know the Truth and He is alive in me.” (John 8:32)
 Genesis 1:2 says, “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
The word ‘hovering’ is used in the New King James Version, but the Hebrew word used here means ‘brooding’. When a bird is brooding it is sitting on its eggs waiting for them to hatch. The purpose behind the Holy Spirit’s ‘brooding’ is the creation. Furthermore, when you look at the particular Hebrew word used here, we see something very interesting. The way a word is used tells us whether it is descriptive, a name, an action, a future tense, past tense and so on. The word here when describing brooding implies not only action, but intention. The Holy Spirit was working; He was brooding with intention; He had a plan. The Holy Spirit was present at the day of creation and there was purpose and intention in what he was doing. He wasn’t just ‘hanging around’ there with nothing to do, and He does not ‘hang around’ today. He wants to partner with us for something bigger. In Matt 16:18, Jesus said, “I will build my church”. That is a phrase of intention, and the Holy Spirit is partnering with Jesus and the Father to bring that to pass. He is still intentionally brooding with the purpose of bringing life and building the church that Jesus said He would build. Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The Holy Spirit empowers us so that we can be the hands, feet and mouthpiece of Jesus. We have that power on us even today. Our commission is to go into all the world and make disciples. We are part of Jesus vision and strategy to build His church, and the Holy Spirit is there intentionally helping us to our part in the great commission.
