Antoine de Saint-Exupery once said, "A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral." In the same way, we may see a lump of clay on the potter's wheel as just that - a lump of clay, but the potter doesn’t see that. He is the creator of a masterpiece, so when he looks at the clay, he sees it for what it is in his mind - an unfinished pot.
As I'm writing this, I feel to encourage someone today that you are not a dirty old lump of clay. You are an unfinished pot - a masterpiece in the hands of a gracious, loving and very creative Father, and since He is the creator, what He sees is all that matters. You exist for His purpose, so let Him continue to do the work in you for He is not finished with you yet.
