Get dressed…

“Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places.” - Ephesians 6:11-12 NKJV

The first two words in these verses are “put on”. We need to realise that we aren’t just dressing up for ‘fashion week’, we are doing something very intentional. We are dressing for battle. When soldiers put on their armour, they know why they are doing it. They know what is before them. When I think of that, it reminds me that we should never take our spiritual walk lightly. The enemy is seeking to bring the battle to us, so we need to be ready.

God has given us His armour, and we need to wear it. Here’s the awesome thing, when we do, the enemy freaks out because he thinks he is coming against Jesus Himself. How do I know that? Because it’s the whole armour of God - it’s His, but He gives it to us to wear because it’s proven to be exactly what we need. it works.

So, armour up! You and I are soldiers of the Living God, empowered with the authority of heaven, equipped with the Word of God, the armour of God and the Holy Spirit who never leaves us or forsakes us. We have exactly what we need for today. Stand strong!
